Our family has called Stanmore home for over 30 years. I grew up here, went to primary and high school just around the corner, and starting Dog Haus feels like the most natural extension of my love for this neighbourhood and the dogs in it.

It took me eight years to convince my dad to get a dog, but when Cody finally joined our family, everything changed. He instantly became my mum’s favourite child (or so she says… my sister and I aren’t convinced!). With both my parents working full-time and my sister and I busy after school, we needed to find a way to keep Cody active and happy. That’s when daycare became part of our routine. Mum loved seeing him come home tired and content, and watching how much it improved his life inspired me to create that same experience for other families.

I started Dog Haus because I wanted to combine my love for dogs, exercise, and community into something meaningful. 

Growing up in the Inner West taught me what real community feels like. There’s something special about the way people look out for one another here, and that sense of connection is what I wanted to bring to Dog Haus. It’s more than just a service for local families; it’s about strengthening the bonds that make this place feel like home.
